The Brighton Chamber of Commerce is inviting residents to deck their homes with their best Christmas lights and do some bragging too.
Brighton residents are invited to join the chamber’s Christmas light contest. Participants can compete for a $200 cash prize in the traditional category or make their best attempt to recreate the display from the film Christmas Vacation for the “Griswold” category. Brighton Chamber Director David McArtor shares why they chose to put on the contest, “We want to get community involvement, to help the town grow. We’re trying to get people excited about the town of Brighton. It’s a town that gets overlooked a lot in our area and we just want it to grow. We would love for anybody and everybody to show up. It would be great if we could get every household in town to be signed up for the Christmas lights display.”
The contest is free to join and participants must call the chamber to have their home registered for voting. Registration closes after tomorrow with voting taking place December 6th through the 16th. Pictures will be posted to the Brighton Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for voting. There will also be ballots available at the Brighton BP. The Brighton Chamber is also offering visits from the Grinch Saturdays through December 18th in Washington, Henry, and Jefferson counties for a donation of $40 or more.
