An early season test was passed with flying colors by the Washington wrestling team when they competed in the Cascade Duals on Friday and they finished third out of eight with a 3-2 mark on the evening.
The Demons lost to Starmont 48-33 and MFL MarMac 47-30, but they defeated Bellevue 60-9, Clayton Ridge 66-10, and Dubuque Wahlert 54-27. Aaron Boone was the headliner at 113 lbs by going 5-0 including 4-0 in contested matches where he managed three pins in a combined 5:17 and an 11-7 decision. Logan Frazer was perfect at 182 and 195 lbs with all three matches being pins in a combined 3:13. Colley Billingsly was 3-1 in contested matches at 220 lbs, Chase Greiner had a 3-2 night at 160 lbs, Eddy Rodriguez won two of three at 106 lbs, and Jack Kleese also went 2-1 in contested matches at 126 lbs. The Demons were victorious in 23 of the 41 matches on the night.
Washington improves to 6-2 and they get back on the mat tomorrow at Anamosa.
