Three people are being treated for injuries following a two-vehicle incident that occurred in Washington County Monday.
The Iowa State Patrol reports at 3:51 p.m. 40-year-old Joshua Jeffrey Pappas of Clear Lake was driving a Dodge Durango SUV westbound on County Road G26 or 190th Street toward Highway 1, where 44-year-old Jill Marie Hebert of Fairfield was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe northbound. Pappas failed to stop at the stop-sign intersection and collided with the passenger side of Hebert’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in a farm field in the northwest corner of the intersection. One person was transported by Air Care, and the other two were transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. ISP is currently investigating possible impaired driving. Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Kalona and Washington fire departments, Kalona QRS, and Washington County Rescue also responded to the scene.
