Charges were recently dismissed for an Oskaloosa woman charged in Washington County.
Court documents show that charges were dismissed for 39-year-old Shawna Kathleen Patzel on possession of contraband in a correctional institution, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. Patzel shall pay all Category B restitution. The charges stemmed from a March 15, 2020 incident. Patzel was being transported to the Washington County Jail on an arrest warrant. While being searched in the booking room, a Washington County jailer found a small plastic bag containing a crystal substance in her pants pocket. Patzel admitted that the substance would test positive for meth, and stated that she wasn’t searched well enough when she was arrested in Mahaska County.
