The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk dance team was in Des Moines last week for the State Championships. The Hawks competed in the Pom Class VII Contest, taking fourth place of 12 schools and the Jazz Class III Contest where they were fourth of 11 schools. This year’s team includes Kelsi Harr, Madelyn Bender, Megan Lucas, Lilou Beachy, Grace Allred, Lizzy Cline, Alivia Poock, Paityn Jennings and Emma Hendricks. The Hawks are one of more than 240 squads that competed at this year’s event.
