You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to the Wellman-Scofield Public Library this Saturday.
From 9 -11 a.m., kids can come visit Santa and receive a free book. Director Erin Campbell says they have 100 books to give out and the types of books include Christmas, early reader, read aloud and board books. Campbell shares that kids will have the opportunity to help decorate a cardboard gingerbread house following their time with Santa, “They’re gonna have different things to decorate it with. So we’re gonna have different things for them to color. Some wrapping paper they can put on the house. We’re gonna have markers and stuff for them to color with. We have paper plates that look like little gumdrops and things like that that they can come and glue it on and help.”
Other crafts will be available for kids including ornament decorating and Christmas cards. Campbell says that to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy, they will be distributing take-and-make hot chocolate bags rather than their traditional hot chocolate bar.
