A Brighton man was cited for a three-vehicle collision south of Washington Wednesday afternoon.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports at about 4:50 p.m. Jeremiah Paul Johnson of Washington was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Highway 1. Johnson stopped with his turn signal activated as he awaited oncoming traffic to turn left onto Larch Avenue. Thirty-year-old Lindsey Elizabeth Adam of Brighton was in a Kia Sedona when she stopped behind Johnson’s vehicle. While both vehicles were waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, 21-year-old Nicholas Shade Iseman driving a Buick Century, was distracted by an electronic device and rear ended Adam’s vehicle, resulting in her vehicle striking Johnson’s, and all three vehicles came to rest on the shoulder area. Johnson’s vehicle received functional damage and the other two received totaling damage and were towed. Washington County Ambulance Service transported one person to Washington County Hospital and Clinics for non-life threatening injuries. Iseman was cited for failing to stop at a clear and assured distance causing injury. Washington County Rescue, Washington Fire and EMS, and Moore’s Towing also responded.
