Cardinal of Eldon was the destination for the WACO wrestling team last night for a triangular and the Warriors split a pair of duals. 

The Warriors defeated Cardinal 58-21, but fell 43-32 to Wapello. The team went 12-11 in contested matches on the evening with nine pins in total. Four grapplers picked up a pair of contested match wins including Gage Samo at 106 lbs (17-1 TF, fall 2:48), Larz Smith at 138 lbs (6-3 decision, fall 1:00), Louden Huisenga at 145 lbs (fall 2:42, fall 2:35), and Kris Boone at 170 lbs (fall :33, fall :30). Other winners included Braden Spain at 152 lbs (fall :25), Cainan Lovan at 182 lbs (fall :09), Drew Diers at 195 lbs (13-1 MD), and Jonah Clark at 220 lbs (fall 3:59). 

WACO is now 4-2 in duals with a busy weekend coming up. The girls’ team will travel to Colfax-Mingo tonight and the boys will be at Tri-County tomorrow.
