The Riverside City Council appointed a familiar face to fill a vacant seat during their regular meeting Monday.

Former council member Andy Rodgers resigned from his seat in early November, due to moving out of the city limits. Rodgers was already leaving the council as he did not run for reelection in November. Following Rodgers resignation, the council publicized the vacant seat to residents in Riverside. The council approved appointing Kevin Mills to serve the remainder of the current term, as he was elected to serve in the four-year term seat beginning January. Newcomer Kevin Kiene will also join the council in January to fill a two-year seat left by Mills who was originally appointed to fill the seat after Jeanine Redlinger resigned in May.
