Despite losing the contested match battle, the Columbus Community/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling team picked up a Southeast Iowa Super Conference dual victory over New London on Thursday with a 48-34 final count in Winfield. 

The Wildcats won only two of six contested matches, but the Tigers gave up 36 points in forfeits. Ty Scorpil pinned Mavy Pope at 113 lbs in 2:21 and Lane Scorpil had a fall in 44 seconds at 120 lbs against Gage Burden. Other Wildcat grapplers lost by two pins and two technical falls. 

Columbus Community/WMU is now 2-1 in duals and they return to the mat today at Colfax-Mingo.
