The Wellman-Scofield Public Library is giving residents an opportunity to add more Christmas decor to their households as a part of a holiday fundraiser.

Children’s Librarian Lisa Lundstrom has hand painted different Christmas and holiday signs as a way to help raise money for the library expansion project. Lundstrom says that there are a variety of canvases with different writing and holiday decorations attached to them. She shares what sparked the idea to start this fundraiser, “I have been drawing on our sign out front of our building since October. And we just had a lot of people comment that they really like the signs. So we had a bunch of canvases on hand here and I just talked to Erin [Campbell]. I was like, ‘We already have the supplies. Why don’t we see if there’s any interest if we made Christmas signs to sell them as a fundraiser at our Christmas party.”

Each canvas is 8 by 10 inches and costs $12. Lundstrom says that residents can talk to her if they wish to do a custom piece or make modifications. The library has raised 35% of their $500,000 goal for the expansion project. The fundraiser will continue until Christmas or once all the pieces have been sold.
