The Highland wrestling team traveled to Muscatine on Monday for a triangular against bigger schools and the Huskies dropped a pair of duals.
Only a handful of Highland grapplers competed and the team lost to Muscatine 67-5 and West Liberty 51-6. The Huskies were giving up 66 points in forfeits throughout the two duals with many open weights. The team won two of 10 contested matches overall with Carlos Valenzuela beating both of his opponents at 132 lbs. The junior won by a pin in 2:25 against West Liberty’s Bryson Garcia and dominated an 18-3 technical fall against Muscatine’s Lincoln Brookhart.
Highland is now 3-6 in duals and they travel to the Fort Madison tournament on Friday and Saturday.
