lone-tree-3

A four game week finished off Thursday and Friday for the Lone Tree girls’ basketball team when they split a pair of matchups against Southeast Iowa Super Conference foes.

On Thursday the Lions had the upper hand in a crossover game against New London (0-7) by a 53-23 final score. An 8-5 first quarter was opened up with a second and third quarter that saw the Lions outscore the Tigers 27-9. The next night Lone Tree had a hard time getting anything going against Mediapolis (6-0) falling 78-29. Avery Lisk recorded nine points and Kasey Chown managed eight points and 11 rebounds. Taking care of the rock was the main issue for the home Lions coughing it up 38 times in the loss.

The Lone Tree boys only played against Mediapolis (5-0) and dropped the league bout 47-29. It was a slight three point Bulldog lead at the break, but a 14-4 third quarter for the road squad created separation in the second half. Elijah Grier led Mediapolis with 14 points.

The Lion girls are now 3-4 and the boys drop to 1-4. Both teams travel to Wapello tonight.
