Agencies responded to a collision between an SUV and a utility vehicle west of Washington Tuesday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office states at about 3:05 p.m. Edmund Reed of Keota was driving a Polaris Ranger UTV and Gary Sieren of Washington was driving a Chevy Trailblazer on 250th Street. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound in the 1200 block when the Ranger crossed from the right shoulder onto the roadway in front of the Trailblazer, causing the Trailblazer to strike the Ranger and Reed and another occupant were ejected. Reed was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Washington County Ambulance Service transported the two individuals to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. AirCare was enroute and then disregarded. No citations have been issued. The Trailblazer received front-end damage and was towed per the owner’s request. Washington County Rescue, Keota Fire and QRS, and Moore’s Towing responded.
