It was a 50/50 night for Lone Tree basketball Friday when they hosted Louisa-Muscatine in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader. In the boys contest, the Lions scored the 45-34 come-from-behind win. The first half belonged to the Falcons, they led 9-3 after one and 25-17 at the break. Lone Tree turned it on after half, rolling to a 17-5 run that lasted the entire third quarter to wrestle the lead away at 34-30. The Lions closed 11-4 in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Cade Shield poured in 13 points to lead the way for Lone Tree. Tyler Bell added 11. The Lions are now 2-5 on the year.

L-M methodically pulled away in the girls game to remain unbeaten with a 51-33 road victory. The Falcons led 18-12 after one quarter and 25-14 at half. Louisa-Muscatine won the third and fourth quarters as well, outscoring the Lady Lions 26-19 in the second stanza to finish the win. Lone Tree’s offense was paced by Kasey Chown’s 12 points and 10 from Riley Krueger. With the loss, Lone Tree is now 3-6 on the year. Lone Tree finishes the 2021 portion of the schedule Tuesday at Columbus with boy/girl doubleheader.
