Residents looking for a last minute gift idea can turn their attention to the Washington Performing Arts Series for help.

With the combined forces of the Washington Performing Arts and Events Center and Washington Concert Association, the performing arts series is continuing to offer season passes for residents to enjoy a handful of shows from all over southeast Iowa. WPAS Board Member Julie Zahs expresses her thoughts on the importance of providing the opportunity to go see live performances, “After this past year of COVID and all, I think people really need to have entertainment. Be it music or dance or plays or whatever. And I just think people have such an opportunity, here in Washington, to see some high quality events. People are very fortunate that we have these and I hope they’ll come from the surrounding communities.”

The season pass will give community members access to shows coming to the Washington Performing Arts and Events Center and to other concert series in Fairfield, Ottumwa, Centerville, and Keokuk in 2022. On February 19th, The Chipper Experience will be making a trip to Washington for a night of magic and comedy. An evening of improvisational comedy will take place on April 2nd featuring performances from Washington alumni. Rounding out the season in Washington is a performance of Beauty and the Beast by Opera Iowa on April 26th. Residents can purchase season tickets for $50 or individual adult tickets for $18. Individual college and student tickets are also available for $10 and $5. For more information, visit here
