A two-vehicle wreck occurred on Highway 218 between Ainsworth and Crawfordsville Wednesday evening.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office states at about 5:16 p.m. Kathleen Ann Rohe of Manning was driving a Buick Enclave southbound on Highway 218 when she missed her turn at 287th Street. Rohe attempted to do a U-turn when she turned in front of a southbound Volkswagen driven by Mary Christa Madden of Morning Sun. Madden’s vehicle struck Rohe’s causing severe damage to both vehicles. One person was transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to Washington County Hospital and Clinics, and one person taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Crawfordsville Fire and QRS, Washington County Rescue, and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene. Moore’s towed the Volkswagen and the Buick was towed privately.
