Henry County agencies responded to a vehicle wreck with injuries last weekend and are seeking information on an earlier property damage incident.
On Saturday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received reports at approximately 12:09 a.m. of a single motor vehicle incident near the Franklin Avenue and Oakland Mills Road intersection in Mount Pleasant. Upon arrival, emergency services provided aid to multiple vehicle occupants. During a subsequent investigation, the vehicle was determined to have entered the ditch area from driver-related factors causing them to lose control and leave the roadway. The driver was identified as 42-year-old Billy Kerr, who was later taken into custody and charged with operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, failure to maintain control and failure to obey a stop sign. The Mount Pleasant police and fire departments and Henry County EMS assisted at the scene.
On December 19th, the sheriff’s office was notified of damage to a speed trailer in the roadway shoulder of the 2100 grid of Franklin Avenue Street. This incident occurred during the overnight hours that evening. Those involved or anyone with information related to the incident are requested to contact the sheriff’s office.
