Our check of Mid-Prairie and Hillcrest Academy alums on the guys basketball court takes us north to Decorah and Luther College. Former Iowa Mennonite School standout Mitchell Schmeider is in his junior year with the Norse.

This season he has appeared in seven of the 10 games the Norse have played, averaging 11 minutes, four points, and three rebounds per game. He is shooting 69% from the floor. Luther has a 1-9 overall record.

Schmeider is a 2018 IMS graduate. During his time in high school, Schmeider was a four year basketball letter winner and named all-district and all-state. He ended his career in the top 10 in school history in the rebounds in a season, rebounds in a game and blocked shots in a season categories.
