Crews will soon begin work on a bridge replacement project west of Coppock.
Starting Monday, Juniper Avenue will be closed approximately 350 feet south from the intersection of 325th Street. The project is expected to last approximately 3-4 months, weather permitting. Iowa Bridge and Culvert L.C. of Washington was awarded the project with a bid of about $240,684. With the current bridge’s weight restriction and narrow crossing, it can often create a detour for larger vehicles and equipment. The project consists of replacing the existing bridge over the creek with a twin 12 by 8 by 38 foot reinforced concrete box culvert. Residents are encouraged to direct any questions to the Washington County Engineer’s Office at 319-653-7731.
