A Washington music group of several familiar faces is making their longest trek yet for a gig in Nashville later this month.
Aces and Eights will be performing January 19th at the National Frame Building Association Building Expo. The cover band that started several years ago playing at private parties and in people’s basements have grown to be a prominent ensemble in southeast Iowa, playing at events including Flightline Live, the Washington County Fair, and the National Cattle Congress in Waterloo. Matt Greiner was one of the founding members of the band whose current lineup includes Washington County Hospital and Clinics CEO Todd Patterson, KCII General Manager Joe Nichols, Heather Greiner, John Woodward, and Kiowa Keith, with technical assistance from Kurt Kucera and Dan Zilly. Matt had kept his cards close to his chest about the band the last few years as he serves on the Board of Directors for the NFBA, but eventually the opportunity to play in Music City was undeniable, “It just kind of so happens the NFBA Expo goes to Nashville every now and then and they were looking for a live band this year and they reached out and asked me if we wanted to do it. It sounded crazy but I pitched and it sold.”
While the band will be taking time out of their jobs and responsibilities to perform in Tennessee, Matt says it’s the fun of playing music that prevails.
