Four Washington students have been chosen for this year’s Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Honor Band Festival.

Three high school and one middle school student auditioned last Saturday at Fairfield High School and all earned a spot in each of the honor bands. Senior Levi Applegate on euphonium and sophomores Teague Mayer on tuba, and Mikaila Mattheson on flute were selected, as well as eighth grader Keven Raymundo on clarinet. Washington Band Director Don Hughes notes that Mattheson is the only Class 3A student selected for the flute section. The SEIBA Band Festival takes place January 22nd at Clear Creek-Amana High School.
