The North Mahaska basketball teams have been the cream of the crop in the South Iowa Cedar League so far this season and it showed on Tuesday at home in a doubleheader sweep of Keota.
The boys game featured both teams getting out to a fast start offensively with the Warhawks (10-2) leading 20-17 after one and 35-27 at half. Outscoring the Eagles by 21 in the final two quarters allowed them to pull away for a 69-40 victory. Cole Kindred led the Eagles with 13 points on four of 12 made shots. Evan Vittetoe added 10 points and Colten Clarahan brought in 10 boards. Keota is now 7-6 overall and 5-5 in the SICL. The Eagle girls struggled to get anything going against the No. 8 Warhawks with North Mahaska (10-1) winning 52-7. Keota drops to 3-11 overall and 3-7 in the league.
