An Eldon man was arrested on Washington and Jefferson County warrants Friday.
The Washington County Communications Center received reports at approximately 8:49 a.m. ofthe Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in a vehicle pursuit on Highway 78 eastbound. A brown Chevrolet Blazer with no license plates was refusing to pull over for a traffic stop and the driver had multiple warrants. Shortly after the pursuit began, the Jefferson County Law Center received a 911 call from the driver stating he was not going to pull over while confirming his identity as 31-year-old Bryce Allen Gaylord. He eventually brought his vehicle to a stop near the intersection with 270th Avenue south of Ollie. Gaylord was arrested on a Washington County warrant for domestic abuse assault third or subsequent offense, a class D felony.
He is also facing charges in Jefferson County of eluding, a serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors, failure to provide proof of financial liability, and operation without registration card or plate. No bond has been issued and a detainer was placed with Jefferson County Jail. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fairfield Police Department, Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol.
