After hiring their own judge for an at-home contest due to the pandemic, Washington students are heading to Montezuma High School this weekend for the District Large Group Speech Contest.

Coach Audrey Skoog tells KCII that Washington is sending six groups to perform. Students will be performing a one-act play titled “Serial Killer Barbie,” “Into the Woods” for musical theatre, along with two short films and two improv groups. Events begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and last until 3 p.m., with a $3 suggested donation for spectators. For more information on the Montezuma site click here.
