The Washington County Conservation Board is taking a small step in helping reduce their ecological footprint.

Executive Director Zach Rozmus says the conservation board was able to use a new projection system for the first time during their monthly meeting on January 13th. The Panasonic projection system was first installed on December 23rd and features an all wireless setup and pull down screen. Rozmus explains that this new system serves a purpose beyond staying up to date with the latest technology, “It allows me to kind of sit there with my [Microsoft] Surface Pro and I can kind of project everything wirelessly to the projector. Allowing me to use more tools where I can display what I’m talking about. And also not have to print out 20 or 30 pages per board member, and then I have if I have guests as well that are showing up to that. It just kind of allows me to go more digital which is gonna help us with our conservation efforts and also just help portray what I’m trying to get across on different materials or whatever project we’re working on at that time.”

Cost for the equipment was roughly $9,000 coming from the board’s building maintenance fund. Rozmus added that this will also serve as a way to help train employees and provide a higher level of accommodations for those renting the center facilities.
