It was another night of domination for the Sigourney-Keota wrestling team on Thursday, but the end result this time was sweeter than most. With a home sweep of a few conference schools, the Savages wrapped up the South Iowa Cedar League Dual Team Title on Senior Night.
The black and gold put the hammer down on HLV 77-0, Belle Plaine 70-12, and defeated non-conference opponent Moravia 48-30. They won 18 out of 24 contested matches on the evening and 13 of those wins were pins. Cade Molyneux went 3-for-3 at 160 lbs with a 13-12 decision, 16-4 major, and a pin in 41 seconds. Individuals with two contested match wins included Reanah Utterback at 106 lbs (fall 1:29, 3-0 decision), Evan Dawson at 152 lbs (fall :43, fall 3:08), and Conner Reed at 220 lbs (fall 3:01, fall 1:06).
The perfect dual record stays intact at 22-0 and the seven seniors recognized included Molyneux, Reed, Dawson, Garison Hynick, Zach Smithart, Cade Streigle, and Aidan Schuster.
