The Riverside City Council approved their annual library fee for the Kalona Public Library during their regular meeting Monday.

The council received an annual update from Kalona Public Library Director Trevor Sherping and Director of Youth Services Olivia Kahler. City Administrator Christine Yancey says that participation at the library from Riverside residents has increased over the past year. Following the update, the council approved a resolution for a payment of $22,230 to be made to the library in July. This is a three percent increase from the previous year. With this approval, Riverside residents will continue to have full access to the library’s resources. Yancey added that the library is currently working on delivery services and is looking for volunteers to assist them in their efforts.
