Hospice of Washington County has much to celebrate as they host their 27th annual soup supper and silent auction fundraiser Tuesday.

The hospice staff are moving into their new office building that takes them out of a floodplain and offers larger facilities for employees, volunteers, and clients to interact. Hospice Executive Director Katrina Altenhofen is proud to say they are about $200,000 away from having a debt-free building for the non-profit organization that serves a seven-county region. While Hospice of Washington County is excited about the new digs, Altenhofen says their work continues to help support clients with their soup supper, “Our fundraisers are pure fundraisers that are for the operational budget because we do not charge any of our patients anything for any type of services that they receive from Hospice of Washington County. So that helps to augment the dollars that we would need to assure that we can treat each patient as we would want them to have for their end of life.”

The soup supper and silent auction will offer dine in and to-go meals from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington. A freewill donation is accepted, and the public is also invited to sponsor a soup roaster. Auction items will also be available for bid at the event or on Facebook. For more information visit here.
