Upsets were not in the cards for the Lone Tree basketball teams on Friday when they invaded Mediapolis and lost a pair of Southeast Iowa Super Conference bouts.
The No. 10th ranked team in class 2A in the Mediapolis girls’ (15-0) stayed unbeaten by having their way in a 57-15 victory. Lone Tree did not record a field goal until the second half after trailing 35-1 at the break and they struggled to shoot just 13% for the game. Kasey Chown led the Lions with nine points and 11 rebounds. After the loss, they dropped to 5-11 overall and 2-8 in the SEISC. The Lion boys could never get over the hump against the Bulldogs (11-3) falling 50-39. The Lions are now 3-11 overall and 2-9 in the league.
