Three of the six large group speech entries representing Washington High School this year have advanced to the state contest.
The Washington Demons performed at the district large group speech contest in Montezuma Saturday, and the groups that have moved onto state are the musical theater piece “Into the Woods,” performed by Bailey Rees, Charlotte Windmill, Mikaila Mattheson, Claire Wubbena, Emma Kaye, Rita Du, and Molly Klinzman; the one-act play “Serial Killer Barbie,” performed by Ada Kendall, Isabella Lujan, and Kyann Miller, and the “Smuckles” improv group of Bailey and Ally Rees and Quincy Griffis.
