Washington County Extension was recently granted several accolades for achievements in 2021.

They were one of 26 ISU Extension and Outreach offices in the southeast area that gathered virtually and face-to-face this week for an award ceremony, taking home three awards. The County Extension Council Distinguished Service Award was given to the Washington County Extension Council. Composed of nine elected officials, the council meets monthly and in subcommittees throughout the year, working with the county regional director, agriculture and youth program specialists, county staff, and volunteers to support programming and resources in the county. The Pride of Extension Award for Youth Staff was given to 4-H and Youth Coordinator Amy Green, who has been in the position for over a decade. The Pride of Extension – County Director Award was given to Andy Miller, who just began in the job last February. The nomination states that Miller has jumped right in head over heels and done well, stepping into a role that was held for almost 20 years by the late Nancy Adrian, and dealing with COVID’s programming challenges.
