The newly ranked Danville Bears showed why they entered the boys class 1A Associated Press basketball poll this week with a 68-30 win Saturday over the Hillcrest Ravens. It was a tough road trip for Hillcrest, who found themselves trailing the No. 10 team in the state 15-6 after the first quarter and 29-13 at the break. Danville put the game away with a 26-8 explosion in the third quarter. The loss snaps the Ravens five game winning streak and drops them to 12-4 on the season. The Hillcrest boys and girls will both be on the floor Tuesday in Riverside when they meet the Highland Huskies in a Superconference doubleheader carried on AM and FM KCII, with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 5:30, tip of the girls game at six with the boys to follow.
