Hardware is coming back to southeast Iowa with the Washington Demon archers after they and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks competed at Saturday’s Chuck Hallier Memorial Tournament in Mount Vernon.

The Washington High Shooters were third of nine in the bullseye team standings with a 3291. Cedar Rapids Prairie took the team championship with a 3345. Top Washington girl was Paige Labelle in fifth in the female contest with 283 day that included 16 tens. Top Demon boys shooter was Johnathan Moore in 13th overall with a round of 281 that included 15 tens. In the 3D contest the Demons were fifth of six schools with a 1582, Anamosa won the team championship with a 1693. Moore led the Demon boys with a 280 that included 14 tens for sixth in the boys contest and Allison Rees was the top Demon girl with a 253 including six tens for 23rd.

Washington’s middle school teams won both the bullseye and 3D contests with scores of 3194 and 1588 respectively. In the bullseye shoot Demon Ryan Pepper won the girls individual title with a 278 that included 12 tens and Ethan Hotchkiss took the boys championship with a 271 score that included 12 tens. Hannah Lipski won the girls individual 3D title with a 273 day that included 11 tens and Blake Sheetz was individual boys runner-up with a 277 with 14 tens.

The Lincoln Demons finished third with a team score of 2633 in the bullseye contest. Alex McFarland won the boys contest with a 252 that included seven tens. Harley Venenga was the top girls shooter with a 224 that included five tens to place eighth.

The Golden Hawks did not post a team score. Individual leaders in the high school bullseye shoot included Zane Fisher eighth in the boys contest with a 283 that included 14 tens, Zoe Fisher was eighth on the girls side with a 280 that included 15 tens. They also led the 3D contest for the Golden Hawk high schoolers with Zane Fisher firing a 269 that included 15 tens to take 18th and Zoe Fisher a 264 with nine tens for 17th. Lael Seale led the Mid-Prairie middle schoolers with a 258 that included nine tens to finish 18th in the girls contest and Tate Bombei a 255 with four tens for 36th on the boys side in the bullseye contest. Seale was also the girls leader in the 3D shoot with a 249 that included seven tens for eighth, Nickolas Kelley also shot a 249 round that included five tens to take 18th in the boys contest.
