The north and south divisions of the Southeast Iowa Superconference are preparing for the annual boys and girls shoot out events coming up this weekend. Girls games will be played on Friday night. Matchups for teams from the KCII listening area include the Winfield-Mt. Union girls, as the two seed, at 16-3 meeting 13-5 south runner-up West Burlington at Mediapolis at 6p.m. At Louisa-Muscatine in the 6p.m. slot 10-9 four seed in the north Highland will see 10-9 no. 4 from the south Holy Trinity Catholic. At Lone Tree the Columbus Wildcats, the eight seed from the north at 3-16 on the year will meet the number eight team in the south, Cardinal, with their 4-16 overall mark. The nightcap at the Tree house will see the Lady Lions, seventh in the north, at 6-14 on the year, face off with the southern seven seed, area school WACO with their 8-11 record. At Hillcrest Union in Kalona the No. 9 seed Ravens, who are in search of their first conference win on the year, and stand at 1-16 overall, will meet winless New London, the nine seed from the south with their 0-20 record.

In boys shoot out games scheduled for Saturday, Winfield-Mt. Union, the top seed in the north will meet the number one team from the south New London on the Tigers home floor at 7:30p.m.. The Wolves are a perfect 14-0 in conference play and 17-1 overall while the Tigers come in at 15-1 on the season and 13-1 in the Superconference. At WACO, the Warriors, the third seed from the south with a 14-4 record this season welcome old rival Hillcrest Academy, the three from the north with a 13-4 record. At West Burlington the sixth seed Columbus Wildcats from the north with their 4-14 record, draw the 6-12 south six seed Burlington, Notre Dame Nikes. At Holy Trinity Catholic the northern eight seed Highland at 3-15 this year will see the south’s eight in Van Buren with a 3-14 record, that game will start at 6p.m. with the night cap of the number seven seed Lone Tree Lions from the north at 5-13 facing the seven seed Holy Trinity Crusaders from the south with their 5-14 record.
