keota-4

Residents in Keota and surrounding areas are invited to participate in a survey to assist in planning for future housing in the city.

Through a $10,000 Rural Housing Assessment grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, the City of Keota is participating in Iowa State University Community and Economic Development’s Rural Housing Readiness Assessment Program. The program allows communities to assess their current development environment and enact policy and procedure changes that could attract potential developers. Prior to participating in the program, the city received feedback from the Iowa Economic Development Authority following a downtown walk around in June of 2021. A point of emphasis was the lack of upper level housing and the potential the city has for a unique living experience. Those participating will provide input for upcoming strategic planning sessions that will create a vision and action plan for future housing development in Keota. To access the survey, visit here.
