Bowling matches don’t get much closer than what transpired at Keokuk County Bowl on Saturday with Sigourney-Keota splitting a heads up dual with Oskaloosa. 

The girls match saw S-K pull off the win by 79 pins with a final count of 2,187 to 2,109. Hannah Alderson broke out for a season high 390 series to place first and the senior recorded a high game of 226. Samantha Bombei was third with a 303 two game tally, Lily Vanvoltenburg was fourth with 293, Jayden Montgomery sixth with 284, Addison Richardson eighth at 267, and Sofya Lobzova 11th with 202. Baker game scores favored Oskaloosa 702 to 650. 

The boys match was even closer with the Indians squeaking out a victory by seven pins with the score being 2,710 to 2,703. Despite the team loss, Brock Alderson had the top score of 444 including a 244 high game. Ty Krueger was fifth with 351, Corren Freel seventh with 348, Landyn Greiner ninth with 332, Seth Donald 10th with 301, and Gable Goff 11th with 283. S-K made up ground in the baker games with a 927 compared to Oskaloosa’s 849. 

Both Cobra teams get back at it tomorrow in Newton.
