Two Mid-Prairie speech groups have received All-State nominations following the state large group speech contest Saturday.

All eight groups representing Mid-Prairie received Division I ratings at the state contest with the two Highland radio broadcasting groups receiving Division II ratings. Mid-Prairie groups nominated for the All-State Festival include the one act play “And the Giants Fell” and improv group “The Triracials.” Students participating in those groups include Jacob Carrillo, Liv Caskey, Isabel Forbes, Avery Frede, Harlie Gehling, Isadora Goode, Sam Harris, Sam Stacey, Diego Ayala, Alex Burnham, and Gideon Sim. Other groups receiving All-State nominations include Keota High School’s performance of “Anna and August” for reader’s theater and Lone Tree’s Choral Reading of “But Wait, There’s More.” All groups nominated for the All-State Festival will be performing at Iowa State University on Saturday, February 19th.
