The most important part of the season has arrived for area girls’ basketball teams and tonight plenty of KCII area schools start up their postseason run.

The first round of the class 1A regionals are tonight and in addition to the Winfield-Mt. Union against Hillcrest Academy game heard on AM and FM KCII, five other area schools hit the hardwood.  Highland is set to host Lisbon in region 6 and the winner will travel to Montezuma on Tuesday. Lone Tree will hit the road to face English Valleys and the winner plays the victor of Sigourney against Keota. WACO competes in the same region with a trip to Wapello and Burlington Notre Dame awaits the winner next week.

All game times are set for 7 p.m. tonight.
