The regular season ended how the WACO boys’ basketball team wanted on Tuesday by downing Southeast Iowa Super Conference opponent Burlington Notre Dame 59-49 on the road.

The third quarter has been the Warriors’ friend all season long and Tuesday was no different by extending a five point halftime lead to 13 after a 21-13 frame. That cushion was enough to hold off the Nikes (7-14) in the Warriors’ third straight victory. Simeon Reichenbach led the team with 15 points, Hunter Hughes had 14, and Colton Leichty brought in 12 rebounds.

The Warriors finished third in the south division with a 12-4 league mark and 17-4 overall. They will host Tri-County or Keota on Monday to start up their district run.
