The postseason was a short stint for the Columbus Community girls’ basketball team when they traveled to Danville (12-10) for a first round class 2A regional on Saturday and never found their footing in a 77-32 loss.
The Bears showed off their offensive prowess early by exploding out to a 25-10 lead after one and 46-20 at the break. The Wildcats were held to just two points in the third and Danville cruised to victory. Columbus suffered 32 turnovers in the loss. Libby White led the team with 10 points and nine rebounds. Lily Coil and Sera Vela added nine points a piece.
Columbus closes the year 3-19 and they bid farewell to a pair of seniors in White and Maggie Sánchez.
