Those driving on Highway 218 in Washington County Tuesday should be mindful of increased traffic enforcement.

Iowa State Patrol District 13 Public Resource Officer Jason Marlow tells KCII troopers are assisting in a statewide Highway 218 “Avenue of the Saints” enforcement effort. The goal is to reduce the number of crashes on this roadway by enforcing traffic laws, disrupting criminal activity, and protecting the motoring public. The 218 corridor will see an emphasis on speeding and stop sign violations in Washington, Henry, and Lee counties Tuesday. Local law enforcement partners have also committed to this effort. Marlow asks the public to drive safely, especially in or near intersections as you travel.
