A Wellman residence suffered damage following a chimney fire Monday.
The Wellman Fire Department responded to reports at approximately 8:32 a.m. of a house fire at 1874 155th Street. Wellman Fire Chief Jeremy Peck says that by the time crews arrived, the attic was engulfed in flames and that those responding were able to subdue the fire in 20 minutes. He says the cause of the fire was a plugged chimney pipe that became overheated and sparked in the attic. No injuries were reported.
