The City of Riverside will no longer have select city committees moving forward.
Following discussions between Mayor Allen Schneider and the city council, the city’s Streets, Park, Finance, Employee, Grant, and Planning and Zoning committees have been disbanded. City Clerk Becky LaRoche says that every January the mayor appoints new council members to various committees and they now feel that these committees no longer serve a purpose. The Planning and Zoning Commission is still operating as normal and the council approved the appointment of residents Doug Havel, Phil Richman and Kris Westfall. The council also approved Mayor Schneider to continue his role as the Riverside liaison for the Washington County Emergency 911 board along with council members Kevin Mills and Edgar McGuire as liaisons to the Riverside Fire Department.
