The Washington City Council awarded two bids to DeLong Construction Tuesday.

The first was for partial demolition of the old wastewater treatment plant for about $169,250. This was $5,750 or 3.3% lower than the engineer’s estimate. The work includes removal of all equipment, and full and partial demolition of piping, supports, stairs, grating, manholes, and other miscellaneous structures including full demolition of all sidewalks, hydrants, light poles, trees, shrubs, and other items; and filling demolished structures to obtain finished grades. The second bid was for construction of water, storm, sewer, paving and grading improvements for phase two of the NLW Subdivision. DeLong submitted a bid of about $597,075 for the infrastructure project which is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2022. Phase two is planned to add 12 housing lots consisting of seven single-family and five multi-family lots beside the nine-lot phase one subdivision located south of East Tyler Street near South 12th Avenue.
