Some area students and residents may be enjoying a three-day weekend as Presidents Day is observed Monday.

While Washington community schools are closed Friday for professional development, Mid-Prairie and Highland schools will not have classes Monday. Washington City Hall and the Washington Public Library will be closed Monday, as well as Riverside and Wellman city halls, Wellman-Scofield Public Library and the Wellman Goodwin Senior Dining Center. The Washington County Courthouse and other county offices will be closed Monday, though the Clerk of Court’s office will be available by phone. Post offices will also be closed.
