A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy is placed on administrative leave after being arrested this week.
Deputy Robyn Elizabeth Hoppman was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury first offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, following an alleged incident at her residence in Riverside Tuesday night. The Washington County Communications Center states Thursday that following Hoppman’s initial court hearing she posted a $2,000 bond and was released. The case remains under investigation by Iowa State Patrol and Hoppman has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the completion of an internal investigation. Louisa County Attorney Adam Parsons has been appointed as special prosecutor for the case, given the Washington County Attorney’s conflict of interest. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
