A camper is considered a total loss following a fire in Rubio Thursday.
The Washington County Communications center received a call at approximately 11:33 a.m. of a camper on fire at 389 1st Street. A nearby neighbor notified authorities as the homeowners were not at the property. Richland Fire Chief Mitch Ehrenfelt says that by the time crews arrived, the camper was fully engulfed in flames and there was no structural integrity left. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported. The house and a nearby shed received minor heat damage to the siding but there was no structural damage. Ehrenfelt says the cause of the fire is unknown.
