A warrant was issued and an arrest made regarding a three-year-old theft case at the Riverside Casino. Friday morning, 46-year-old Jodi Leigh Covington of Des Moines turned herself in, at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, for an issued warrant for a charge of first degree theft, a Class C felony. The charge stems from an incident in February of 2019 when it is alleged that she conducted three unauthorized credit card transactions of more than $9,000 each on a Riverside Casino & Golf Resort credit card. These funds were then directed to a Square Card account under Covington’s control. Covington told casino staff that these funds were a deposit on a future travel club trip to the Casino and provided a fictitious invoice from Ultimate Escapes Travel, billing the Casino.
Covington was released after posting $10,000 cash only bond.
