Farmers and crop advisors are invited to attend the Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association’s annual meeting this Thursday.
This free event takes place at the Johnson County ISU Extension and Outreach office in Iowa City, and will include a review of 2021 activities and plans for 2022 from Southeast Iowa Research Farm Superintendent Cody Schneider, a crop disease research update from Iowa State University professor Alison Robertson, and a crop market outlook from Extension Farm Management Specialist Ryan Drollette, among other topics. Field Agronomist Rebecca Vittetoe shares why this annual meeting is held, “The overall purpose is just to kind of give people an update as far as what’s going on at the research farm and share some of the research that’s been going on and what we’ve been learning from that research. But it also gives folks an opportunity to visit and if there’s ideas on what we should be doing at the research farm, it’s a great opportunity for people to share those as well.”
Refreshments and registration begin at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting lasting from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with lunch provided. Certified Crop Advisors can earn continuing education units for attending.
